Update 15/10 - QIPCO British Champions Day Plan

Raceday Details

  • Gates Open – 10.30
  • 1st Race - 1.20pm / 6th Race – 4.35pm
  • Max Bookmaker Numbers – tatts – 90 / rails 29

Pitching In Time

Due to the nature of the raceday and expected attendance on this raceday, there will be a 3-hour report time. This will ensure all bookmakers equipment will be in position before the gates open

Post Racing Event

There will be DJ performing after racing located in the Thunderdome which is located on the lawns by the pavilion, this will cause crowd issues exiting the track so please exit using the service tunnel which will give you easier access to car park 6

Car Parking

Please use Car Park 6 – this is free and we’ll endeavour to park all bookmakers as close to the road as possible

If you wish to drop equipment off in the betting ring please notify us (in advance) by emailing the following details to betting@ascot.com.  All vehicles will have to be removed by 9.30am to allow our Venue Operations time to do their final checks.

  • Name
  • Bookmaker Trading Name
  • Car (make & model)
  • Reg Number
  • Number of Occupants

Once you have dropped your equipment off, please remove all vehicles and park in Car Park 6 as normal.  Your wristbands/badges will be available to collect from the Bookmakers Box by the Pavillion entrance as normal.  Please ensure all staff exit the course with you and collect their wristbands from the bookmakers box.

Badge Box

The badge box will be open from 8.30am in the morning for collection of all bookmaker wristbands/badges etc

Please help our security team by wearing the wristband and showing it to the security team on the entrance.  This will help them to ensure that you access the course as quickly as possible.  There will be security checks so please allow a few minutes extra to get on to the course.

Betting Areas

We have removed the Bandstand & Parade Ring Options for this raceday so all bookmakers will be able to operate from the betting ring.  There are 77 positions (using the Horseshoe format) available on the tarmac with anchorage points.  There will be 13 bookmaker spaces on the Lawn by the Furlong Marquee as normal.  These will be marked out before the raceday.  These will be in two lines of 7 and 6.

Rails Signage

  • Please ensure that only rails boards signage is used  - many thanks to all bookmakers last week who helped us to ensure this was implemented

Ticket Sales

We have sold over 7,000 ‘18-26 year old’ tickets and their enclosure will be on the Champions Lawn (front trackside), there are numerous bars and food outlets across the lawns and it is expected that the majority will remain in the area.  There will be wet weather cover provided for them.

Bookmakers will be split into two lines (of 7 & 6) on these lawns

We are forecasting an overall attendance of over 28,000 and we’ll update this next week and post to the RBC website.
